Okay now I would love to get in detail but to put it short: the big grey Scientific Atlanta adapter has never been dumped and seems to have more existent code than the currently dumped version.
some links of forum topics I have started.
http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8609
http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=17515
Now I have talked briefly with rika chou about dumping the cart but in the event he can't dump the cart I would like to request that someone will.
drx, if somebody sent you the cart would you be able to dump it and release it in your next batch of betas?
any positive answer at this point would be a breath of fresh air for me and maybe everybody else.
Thanks for reading this turbulent post!

I might be able to. I don't promise anything though, and I might have to disassemble the cart to do it.
You could show me a scan of the board, would help me a bit. |

I for one do not have the cart but there are a considerable amount of folks who still have them.
Here is the cart, as i cannot find a pic of the board, unless its the same thing but I figured you meant the chip under the plastic.
I don't want to pressure you or anybody else to help fit this in to your next big release, I would like to open this rom up and see what is in it sometime. |

Don't know if this'll help you, but I saw that cart at a vendor at VGXpo and the person who bought it was Brendon from Magfest. If you want to, you can try talking to him about it.
I'd love to see this expereince recreated, myself. |

My only excuse to that is the the genesis romset would be incomplete without both dumps and I'm almost positive there is more content in there.
But I'm not here to rush this or even push a release out the door, I'm here to make the point aware so that eventually we can rectify this little mishap.
On recreating the experience, I will not promise anything however I do think we can get something out of the Grey cart rather than the blue cart. It may take extensive hacking and support from stevesnake, In short, I feel we can get something out of it but it might not be the Sega channel you've been hoping for. |

By the way, I seem to remember that the current dump is incomplete. It's supposed to have all of Sonic's art from that little intro, but it's missing some tiles.
I'm no expert, so I may be wrong though. I would think that if it was a complete dump, then it would be possible to activate that intro somehow.
If drx wants to get these dumped, I would send them to him no problem. They're not doing any good with me. I'm just not sure how much interest there really is, or how much shipping would cost, and as always I am strapped for cash. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=meowqu&view=videos |

I can personally say that sega-16 is quite interested in seeing what we could do with a full dump.
I'm broke as of today so I can understand where you are coming from, I'm in no hurry.
I liken this topic to an emergency broadcast rather than a T.V. fundraiser so if everybody knows that there is only that one incomplete dump then maybe Interest could build up over time. |

I'm right next to Oakland. Too bad I can't just go over there and take it. What I'd want most is that music. It definitely had a TJ&E vibe to it. |

Bah, now that the link to that auction is public we have 90% less chances of getting it ourselves. |

It was public two days before now, so it's not really his fault. |

I found it through gamesniped. Nothing really goes by without getting their attention these days :p
Besides, is there a community interest anywhere to raise funds for this? I doubt anyone that's going to in the end dump it for everyone will end up with it. |

I'd donate if I knew there were gonna be any other people pooling in. I'd like to see the cart obtained. |

Listing has ended. All is well. =)
The highest bidder needs somebody who can dump it, btw. |

I would offer to dump it, but it might not be a standard cart that's dumpable with the MoD cable. drx is probably the best man for the job.
I'm so happy someone awesome won it. :D _________________ http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=meowqu&view=videos |
